Black Owned Business Kansas City's mission is to equip under-resourced Black Owned Business in Kansas City with powerful resources that include community, education, networking, mentorship, access to capital and leadership development to lean them towards the path to generational wealth and more equitable futures. We were founded in 2012 and currently have nearly 32,000 members.

The Black Business Ball & Awards is The Black Owned Business Kansas City Foundation’s Signature fundraising event to support our mission and future goals. This Ultra Black Affair will Champion the outstanding work done by minority business leaders within the Kansas City area. Business owners, community leaders, family, friends and members of the community will come to celebrate Black Business and the important impact small businesses bring to our community. This ultra black formal affair will embrace the Rich Black Kansas City culture through music, food and dance while honoring outstanding members within our community with small business awards.

The Black Business Ball is a time to honor legacy while promoting prosperity.
